Booking and payment

How do I book a tour?+

Send an enquiry through the site or message us on WhatsApp with your dates, group size and the trip you are interested in. We will come back with an itinerary and a quote, and confirm availability before anything is paid.

What deposit is required?+

A deposit confirms your place, with the balance due before departure. Policy to be confirmed by Tripzy.

How can I pay?+

We can accept bank transfer and international transfer services. Policy to be confirmed by Tripzy.

What happens if I cancel?+

Cancellation charges depend on how close to departure you cancel. Policy to be confirmed by Tripzy.

Can I get a private tour instead of a group departure?+

Yes. Any of our routes can be run privately for you, your family or your friends, and we can build something new from scratch if none of the listed trips fit.

On the tour

How many people are in a group?+

Group sizes vary by trip. Policy to be confirmed by Tripzy.

Can I travel solo?+

Yes. Solo travellers join our trips regularly, and we can also arrange private travel for one person. We run a women only Hunza departure for women who prefer a female led, women only group.

What is included in the price?+

Typically accommodation, ground transport, an English speaking local guide, permits where required and breakfast. Domestic flights and additional meals vary by trip. Exact inclusions are listed on each tour page and confirmed in your quote.

What is not included?+

International flights, visa fees, travel insurance, personal equipment, tips and personal expenses.

Can the itinerary change?+

Private and custom trips are fully flexible. On fixed departures the route is set, though you can always opt out of an activity on any given day. Weather and road conditions occasionally force changes, and your guide will manage those.

Do you cater for dietary requirements?+

Vegetarian and halal options are available everywhere we travel. Tell us about allergies or specific requirements at the time of booking so your guide can plan ahead.

Practical

Do I need a visa?+

Citizens of 192 countries can apply for a Pakistan visa online through the official NADRA portal at visa.nadra.gov.pk. A fee applies, which varies by nationality and length of stay, and processing usually takes 7 to 10 working days. Apply at least three weeks before you travel. The free visa on arrival scheme that ran until the end of 2025 has been withdrawn.

Do you provide a letter of invitation?+

A letter of invitation can support some visa applications. Policy to be confirmed by Tripzy.

Do I need travel insurance?+

Yes. We strongly recommend insurance covering trekking at altitude and emergency evacuation. We do not provide insurance ourselves.

What should I pack?+

Layers for the mountains, modest clothing that covers shoulders and legs, sturdy walking shoes, sun protection and any personal medication. We send a full packing list once your trip is confirmed.

What is the weather like?+

Cities are very hot from May to September, often above 40C. The northern valleys stay pleasant in summer and cold at night. Winter in the mountains falls below freezing.

Will I have mobile signal and wifi?+

Signal is good in cities and most valley towns and patchy in remote areas. We can arrange a local SIM, so bring an unlocked phone. Hotels usually have wifi, though not always in the mountains.

What should I wear?+

Pakistan is a conservative country. Men and women should cover shoulders and legs in public. Women should carry a scarf for mosques and more conservative areas. The mountains are more relaxed, though shorts are still best avoided.
