Trip Itinerary

  • Upon arrival at Islamabad International Airport, you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel for check-in. After some time to rest and unwind, a short tour briefing will be held following lunch. Later, guests will visit a local market for any necessary shopping and currency exchange, along with sightseeing stops at the Lok Virsa Museum and the iconic Faisal Mosque.

  • Take a scenic one-hour flight from Islamabad to Gilgit, with spectacular aerial views of the Himalayas and the mighty Nanga Parbat. Upon arrival, drive to Karga Valley to visit the 7th-century Rock Buddha, then continue your journey to Hunza along the legendary Karakoram Highway.

    Along the way, stop at the historic Berano Suspension Bridge and the Danyor Tunnel, with photo breaks at remarkable landmarks including the Rakaposhi viewpoint, the ancient Silk Route perspective, and the meeting point of tectonic plates.

    Entering Hunza, explore Nasirabad in Lower Hunza, one of the valley’s oldest settlements. Walk beside traditional water channels through charming village lanes, meet local residents, visit orchards, and experience authentic rural life. Later, enjoy panoramic views of Rakaposhi and Diran Peak before continuing to Karimabad for an overnight stay.

    In case of flight cancellation due to weather conditions, travel by road from Islamabad to Naran or Besham (approximately 6 hours) with scenic stops along the way.

  • Spend a full day exploring Central Hunza, beginning with a peaceful morning walk along Samarqand Kohl, a traditional water channel flowing through village homes and fields. Visit the 800-year-old Baltit Fort and discover its fascinating history, followed by a stop at Ganish — the oldest settlement in Hunza.

    Continue to Altit for lunch at the charming Kha Basi Café, a community-run initiative supported by Serena Hotels. Afterward, explore Altit village, visit the historic 900-year-old Altit Fort, and, if open, stop by the local music school to experience traditional instruments and culture firsthand.

    In the evening, drive to Duikar (2,800 m) for a short hike to a spectacular sunset viewpoint overlooking Hunza and Nagar valleys, with breathtaking views of multiple 7,000-meter peaks. Return to Karimabad for dinner at a local restaurant and time to explore the bazaar for handicrafts, gemstones, and dry fruits.

    If flights are canceled, travel by road from Naran/Besham to Hunza (7–8 hours) with scenic stops along the way.

  • Today we journey to Passu, passing through the scenic villages of Upper Hunza. En route, stop at the ancient Haldikish rock carvings before enjoying a boating experience on the stunning Attabad Lake.

    In Gulmit village, explore a traditional home, visit a local carpet center run by women entrepreneurs, and, if open, stop by the Bulbulik Music School. Later, take a rewarding one-hour hike up to Ondra Fort, a community-led heritage site offering panoramic views of the Passu Cones and Upper Hunza.

    Continue to Borith Lake, known for its migratory birds, followed by an easy hike to Passu Glacier. Spend time in Passu village meeting local families and learning about their way of life.

    End the day with sunset views at Glacier Breeze Restaurant over tea and apricot cake, with the option to enjoy local specialties at Yalk Grill or attend a cultural event (if available), before returning to Karimabad for the night.

  • Today we head from Karimabad to Minapin in Nagar Valley, the gateway to the towering Rakaposhi and Diran peaks. Surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery, Minapin offers stunning views and rich cultural experiences. Enjoy free time in the village, connect with a local storyteller, and experience an adventurous 2-hour jeep ride to KHO Meadows. The rugged journey and panoramic summit views make this excursion truly unforgettable.

    After taking in the scenery and a short nature walk, return to Minapin for a traditional meal at Osho Thang, famous for its signature Gurkun Karahi. Drive back to Karimabad, with optional visits to Haiderabad Khun and KADO Hunar Khun, a community-driven handicraft initiative, if time allows. Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • After breakfast, drive to Hoper Valley (approx. 1.5 hours, 2,800 m), stopping at the scenic confluence of the Hunza and Nagar rivers. Explore Nagar Khas village and connect with locals to learn about their traditions and lifestyle. Continue to Hoper village for a rewarding two-hour hike to Hoper Glacier, where you can walk along the glacier and admire the dramatic mountain landscape.

    Hoper is also known for its gemstones, offering opportunities to browse local shops for authentic stones and handicrafts while engaging with residents and hearing stories of the valley’s heritage.

    Later, travel to Khanabad in Lower Hunza for an immersive village experience. Spend time with a host family, explore orchards and village lanes, meet artisans and storytellers, and enjoy a traditional home-cooked lunch.

    In the afternoon, drive to Gilgit via the Karakoram Highway for an overnight stay at the hotel.
