Description

This unforgettable trek leads to one of the most awe-inspiring mountain landscapes on Earth — the legendary K2 Base Camp and Concordia, often referred to as The Throne Room of the Mountain Gods.

Situated at the confluence of the Baltoro Glacier and the Godwin Austen Glacier, Concordia is dominated by an extraordinary circle of towering peaks. Here, the world’s second-highest mountain, K2 (8,611 m), rises dramatically alongside Broad Peak, the Gasherbrums, Masherbrum, Chogolisa, Mitre Peak, and the soaring granite spires of the Trango Towers.

Accessed via the mountain town of Skardu, the journey begins with a rugged drive to Askole, the last permanent settlement, before trekking deep into the Karakoram wilderness. Following the historic route up the Braldu Valley and across the vast Baltoro Glacier, the trail reveals ever-changing panoramas of ice, rock, and sky.

Nowhere else on Earth allows you to stand so close to so many of the planet’s highest peaks. With two nights at Concordia, trekkers have the option to continue to the iconic K2 Base Camp and visit the Gilkey Memorial — a solemn tribute to climbers who lost their lives on the world’s most challenging mountain.

Supported by experienced local guides and a Balti trek crew, this expedition-style journey combines high-altitude adventure with deep cultural insight. While physically demanding, the trek is well within the reach of fit and determined trekkers seeking one of the greatest mountain experiences on the planet.

Trip Itinerary

Arrive at Islamabad International Airport and meet your guide for transfer to the hotel. Time to rest after your journey. After lunch, attend a comprehensive trek briefing. Later, visit local markets for last-minute shopping and currency exchange, followed by sightseeing at Lok Virsa Museum and the iconic Shah Faisal Mosque.

Enjoy a spectacular scenic flight (weather permitting) with breathtaking views of Nanga Parbat and surrounding peaks. Upon arrival in Skardu, transfer to the hotel. Explore Skardu Bazaar and visit the ancient Manthal Rock Buddha. Later, walk to Nansoq Village, Baltistan’s first organic village, to experience local life before returning to Skardu.
Alternative: In case of flight cancellation, drive to Chilas via the Karakoram Highway.

Drive by 4WD jeep through the fertile Shigar Valley and into the dramatic Braldu Gorge. Pass Askole, the last permanent village, and continue along a rugged mountain track to Jhola Camp (3,100 m). Camp beside the river under towering rock walls — your first night in the wilderness.
